Babbel offers a variety of secure payment methods to provide you with a seamless and safe purchase experience. Our payment transactions comply with the highest security standards, including a secure server connection and up-to-date encryption methods.
Accepted payment method
When you purchase a subscription at babbel.com, you can choose from the following payment methods:
- Credit card - we accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Some debit cards are also accepted, depending on your bank's policy
- PayPal - available worldwide except for customers in Turkey and Brazil
- Apple Pay - available if a compatible device is used with Apple Pay set up
- iDeal - available for customers in the Netherlands
- Klarna - available for customers in Belgium
For purchases at babbel.gifts you can pay with:
- Credit card - we accept Mastercard, Visa and American Express
- PayPal
App store purchases
You can also buy a subscription in the Babbel app using the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
When you subscribe via an app store, your purchase is made directly through the store's platform (Apple or Google) and all payments are processed by that company. Depending on which app store you use, different payment methods, prices and terms may therefore apply.
Please note that transactions made via PayPal or app stores must be linked to a bank account or credit card. It is not possible to pay for Babbel using a credit balance.
Changing your payment method
You can change your payment method only if you have an active subscription. If your subscription has already been canceled you can purchase a new one and enter the updated payment information before finalising the transaction.
If you want to update your payment method:
- Visit babbel.com and log in to your Babbel account.
- Click on the profile icon in the top right corner and select Profile and settings.
- Choose the Account Information tab on the left side.
- Click on Change payment method.
- Provide the new information and click on Save details.
