Create your account
To start your language learning adventure, you'll need to create a Babbel account. Signing up is quick and easy, and no payment information is required.
If you're using a mobile device, download the Babbel app. If you're using a computer, register here. Follow the instructions to set up your account and answer a few questions to help us personalize your learning experience.
Choose your subscription
After you've set up your account, it's time to choose a subscription that suits your learning needs. Babbel offers various subscription plans that give you access to all courses and levels in your chosen language. This flexibility ensures that you can study topics that interest you and match your goals.
You can choose between Babbel - self-study app-based lessons at your own pace, or Babbel Live - online private or group lessons with real teachers. Both types of subscription also come in different lengths, so you can choose the one that suits you best.

Find your level
If you are not sure where to start or want to assess your level, take a placement test. After creating your account, you will be prompted in the main dashboard to take a very quick test.
Answer a few questions and we will help you understand your level and suggest your first lesson.
Start learning
On the main dashboard you will see your first lesson - just click Start Lesson and have fun! After each lesson you complete, we will add all the vocabulary and phrases you have learned to your Review section. Here you can repeat everything you have learnt at any time.
You can also navigate to our Explore section to find other lessons, and easily move between topics or levels whenever you feel ready for a different challenge. Depending on your learning language, in the Explore section you will also find our podcasts, grammar guides, magazine and other learning resources.
Set up your goals
Whenever you are ready, take a moment to define your language learning goals. Whether you're looking to learn the basics, build on existing skills or prepare for a specific situation such as traveling, having clear objectives will help you choose the right courses and achieve results faster.
With a Babbel subscription, you can explore courses tailored to your goals, ensuring a personalized learning experience. You can also set learning reminders to help you achieve your goals.
