With our offline mode available on both iOS and Android devices, you can continue learning even when you don’t have internet access.

This feature is particularly useful for those who are always on the go and want to make language learning a daily habit without relying on a constant internet connection.

What features can I use offline?

When you're not connected to the Internet, you can still learn with Babbel. You can download full lessons and progress on your learning path without being connected to the internet.

Additionally, the review feature stores the words you learn on your device, so you can train your vocabulary anytime.

In addition to reviewing your vocabulary and completing new lessons, you can also download Babbel podcasts to improve your learning skills.

Downloading individual lessons

To download individual lessons for offline use, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Babbel app on your device.
  2. Tap on Explore in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Courses and choose a course and lesson from the menu.
  4. Tap on the download icon next to the start button.

A checkmark will replace the download icon once the lesson is saved on your device.

Feel free to download as many lessons as you like, but remember to download them while connected to the internet before going offline.

Enabling automatic downloads

For an even smoother learning experience, you can set up your lessons and review items to download automatically:

    1. Open the Babbel app.
    2. Tap on the Profile icon, then the Settings wheel.
    3. Tap on Settings.
    4. Scroll down to the Downloads section.
    5. Tap on Automatic downloads.

Downloading podcasts

To download podcasts, tap Explore in the bottom navigation bar and choose your podcast. You can now see the list of episodes and save them by tapping the download icon.

Offline mode is exclusively available on the Babbel mobile app and not on desktop. You can download the app from your respective app store or find it here.
