At Babbel, we believe that learning a language should be flexible and enjoyable. That’s why we offer various ways to learn, including on your computer or laptop. With our online platform, you can access all your Babbel courses without the hassle of downloading any extra software. All you need is an up-to-date internet browser and a reliable internet connection to dive into your lessons.
Accessing the Babbel website
To start using Babbel on your computer or laptop, simply visit babbel.com. Log in with your Babbel account credentials or if you’re new to Babbel, you can easily register there. If you need help on how to register and get started with Babbel just click here.
You can access your Babbel account on multiple devices by logging in the same way on each one. Your progress will sync across devices, allowing you to pick up right where you left off, whether you continue learning on another computer or switch to the Babbel app.
Navigating the Babbel website
Once you log in, you'll see on top:
Home which displays your current and queued courses under the Today tab, as well as your learning path in the Learning Plan tab, where you can modify your course selections.
Review where you can find and practice all the vocabulary from the lessons you have completed.
Live which is only visible if Babbel Live classes are available for your chosen language. Please note that a Babbel Live subscription differs from our standard self-study subscriptions.
Explore where you can browse all the courses and other learning resources, including podcasts, conversational practice, and the Babbel magazine.
Prices where you can check the available offers and their prices if you don’t have a Babbel subscription yet. You can also click on See plans in the orange callout on the homepage to explore the available options.
Streak which indicates the number of consecutive days you have been learning.
Activities where you see the summary of your weekly progress after completing a learning activity, giving you a clear view of your achievements.
Learning language where you can select your learning language by choosing the respective country flag.
Profile where you can access our Help Centre, as well as your Profile and settings. Here, you can change your display language, update your account information, and manage your subscription.
System requirements
You don’t need to install any special software to use Babbel on your laptop or desktop computer. Babbel runs smoothly on all modern computers with an updated internet browser.
To access Babbel, simply go to babbel.com. If you’re using an older computer, please check that you meet the following requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 7 or above; or Mac OS X 10.13 or above.
- Browser: a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
To use Babbel's speech recognition feature, we generally recommend using Chrome. If you are using Edge, Firefox, or Safari, please note that speech recognition is only available for learning the languages: German, Italian, Spanish, and French.
