The Babbel app allows you to learn a new language on the go, providing access to a variety of courses and additional features right from your mobile device. Whether you're commuting, at home, or traveling, our app makes language learning convenient and engaging.
Using the Babbel app
To start using the Babbel app on your mobile device, you need to download it from your app store. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices:
After installing the app, open it and log in with your Babbel account credentials. If you’re new to Babbel, you can easily register directly within the app. For assistance, you can find detailed instructions on how to register and get started with Babbel by clicking here.
You can access your Babbel account on multiple devices by logging in the same way on each one. Your progress will sync across devices, allowing you to pick up right where you left off.
Navigating the Babbel app
Once you log in, you'll see on top:
Streak which indicates the number of consecutive days you have been learning.
Profile where you can manage your settings, language combinations, and app appearance. Additionally, under Settings, you'll find options such as logging out of the app.
You can navigate by switching between the tabs:
Learn which serves as your primary navigation tab, where you can find upcoming lessons, browse and switch between courses, receive personalized updates, access ongoing podcasts and lessons, and explore additional content on specific topics to enhance your language learning journey.
Practice which is your dedicated tab for improving language skills through organized content in vocabulary, listening, speaking, and grammar, with features varying based on the language you're learning.
Progress which provides a comprehensive overview of your language-learning journey, featuring your goals, course progress, learning statistics, vocabulary tracking, and challenges to help you stay motivated and accountable.
Live which is only visible if Babbel Live classes are available for your chosen language. Please note that a Babbel Live subscription differs from our standard self-study subscriptions.
System requirements
If you have an iPhone or iPad, please ensure that it is running iOS 15 or later. For Android devices, the requirement is Android 9.0 or higher.
The Babbel app is not supported on beta versions of iOS or Android, rooted devices, or devices running a custom ROM.
