Group Plan for family and friends

The Babbel Group Plan is the perfect way to share your language learning journey with friends, family, or study partners. One subscription, up to six people, full access to everything Babbel has to offer.

The Babbel Group Plan is now available in most regions worldwide for customers who do not have an active subscription. At this time, it is not supported in Belgium, Puerto Rico, Brazil or India. We are working on expanding availability, so please check babbel.com/prices to see when it becomes available in your region.

What is the Group Plan?

With Babbel’s Group Plan, one person (the admin) purchases the subscription and can invite up to 5 others, making it 6 people in total. Everyone gets their own individual Babbel account, so you each learn at your own pace, choose your own language, and keep your progress completely private.

Unlike individual subscriptions that cover just one person, the Group Plan lets multiple people learn under one subscription, making it more cost-effective for groups.

Purchasing the Group Plan

The Group Plan can only be purchased on the Babbel website - it's not available via the mobile app or Apple Family Sharing. Just head to the pricing page, select the Group Plan, pick your subscription duration, and you're good to go. Once the purchase is complete, you become the admin and can start inviting people right away.

You pay one flat price for the whole group, no matter how many members you add. That makes it much more affordable than everyone buying their own individual subscription. Only the admin handles payment - members don't need to contribute anything.

Managing the Group Plan

Everything you need is in your Group Plan dashboard on the Babbel website. From there, you can invite members, remove them, and keep track of who's in your group.

For billing, head to your account information page to check your renewal date, payment details, and billing history. The plan renews automatically, and if you cancel, everyone will keep access until the end of the current billing period.

One thing to keep in mind: there can only be one admin per Group Plan, and admin rights can't be passed on to someone else. If you delete your account while the plan is active, the whole group will lose access.

Inviting members

There's no rush to fill all the spots - you can add people at any time. To invite someone, just enter their email address in the dashboard and they'll receive a link to join. They can either log in to an existing Babbel account or create a new one.

You can invite people from any country, including those who are already Babbel users - the only restriction is that you can't invite someone who's already part of another Group Plan.

If someone didn't receive it, you can always resend it or cancel it before they accept if it went to the wrong address. If you need to remove a member, you can do that anytime too. They'll lose access to the content straight away, but their account and learning progress stay safe, and their spot opens up for someone new.

Joining as a member

Getting started is easy. Once the admin sends you an invitation, you'll get an email with a link to join. Click it, log in or create a Babbel account, and you're in. You don't need to be in the same country as the admin or the other members - everyone can join from wherever they are.

If you already have an active individual subscription, it'll keep running alongside your Group Plan membership. We'd recommend cancelling it so you're not paying for both.

As a member, you get full access to all of Babbel's language courses and features, on both the website and the mobile app. You can study any available language and everything (your progress, streaks, and activity) stays completely private. The admin can see your name and email address, but nothing about your learning. And of course, you don't pay a thing.

If you ever decide to leave, you can do so at any time. You'll lose access to the content straight away, but your account and all your progress are kept safe. If you want to come back, the admin can send you a new invitation whenever there's a free spot. You can also pick up right where you left off by getting your own individual subscription.

If you didn’t receive your invitation, check your spam folder first. If it's still not there, just ask the admin to resend it and if the link isn't working, it may have been cancelled - a quick message to the admin and they can send a new one.

Please note that Babbel’s learning features are designed for adults and are not suitable for young children. Teenagers may use Babbel with parental supervision.
