We're excited to announce our new interface for the Babbel app! While your favorite features and content remain, we've crafted the new interface to make your learning experience even easier and more intuitive.
Why did we make this change?
Our new interface has been redesigned to create a more intuitive and engaging experience that will help you learn faster and more effectively. The new design places your learning content at the forefront, while ensuring easy access to additional features and content that will help you practice and work on your new language.
Based on your feedback and experience, we've also introduced a new way to track your progress and celebrate your achievements in a more meaningful way.
We want to make sure everything works perfectly, so we are releasing the new interface gradually. This means that you may see some tabs change to the new design, while some features may not be fully available. We are working hard to release the new interface and hope you will enjoy the new experience very soon!
If you don't have automatic updates turned on, keep an eye on your app store for manual updates as they become available.
Learn - navigate your language journey
The first and main tab in the Babbel app is now named Learn. Here, you’ll always find your upcoming lessons, guiding you along your learning path. Here you can also browse all of our courses and switch between them if you want to skip ahead or review previous lessons.
On the top of the Learn tab, we will keep you up to date with updates relevant to you, such as a suggestion to check your level if you are starting learning a new language, recommendations to review your vocabulary if you have words or phrases that need refreshing or updates about your streak.
Next, you will see any podcasts you have started in the Learn with a Babbel podcast section and any lessons you have started in addition to your main course in the Ongoing topics section. This gives you quick access to any additional learning material you've been using.
At the bottom of the tab you can also explore our additional content on specific topics. By clicking on Show topics you can browse our collection of extra lessons and find something that interests you and can help you on your language learning journey.
Practice - sharpen your skills
The Practice tab serves as your dedicated hub for enhancing your language skills beyond the main courses. We’ve organized our content into different skill areas:
- Vocabulary, where you can find and practice all your learned phrases and words
- Listening, where you can access Audio recap and Podcasts
- Speaking, where you can use Conversation Practice exercises
- Grammar, with our Grammar guide
Keep in mind that the availability of these features depends on the language you are learning.
Progress - celebrate your achievements
At the top of the Progress tab, you'll find Your goal - a constant reminder of your language-learning mission. We know that learning a new language can be a daunting experience, so this is a great way to remind yourself why you're doing it!
Below you can see Your courses - an overview of your progress with the percentage of lessons completed in your current course, or drill down to see all your past and future lessons.
In the Learning stats section, we display the number of lessons you’ve completed and the total time spent learning since you began your Babbel journey.
With Your vocabulary you can track how many new words and phrases you’ve recently learned, view your total count, and quickly access them for review.
At the bottom of the tab, you’ll find Challenges, where you can track your commitments, such as the Streak challenge.
