What do I do if I've paid but don't have access?

If there's a delay between your purchase and getting full access to Babbel, there are a couple of possible solutions. Here are the most common fixes:

Check your email address

The most common answer to being locked out of your subscription is to check that you’re logged in using the right email address. (This is especially true if you're being asked to pay again). Make sure you’re using the address you registered with, and you can always check your email to see if it contains a welcome email from when you first joined.

Check your language

If you still don’t have access, check that your learning language is the same that you selected for your subscription. Since a standard subscription only grants you access to one language, having another language selected can lock you out of content.

You can check that you’ve selected the correct learning language by clicking on the flag on the top-right corner of your dashboard on desktop. For mobile, you can check it by tapping on Profile > Settings wheel > My Languages in the app.

Download the right device

Keep in mind that if you’re using Babbel on a smartphone or tablet, you’ll need to download the Babbel app. This is because it’s not technically possible is to access our lessons via a web browser on a smartphone or tablet.

If you still need to download the Babbel app, visit here to download the app onto your Apple or Android device. Once it’s downloaded, open the app and then tap on Log in to enter your account details.

Log out and back in again

Finally, if you still can’t access our full learning content and you’ve followed the other suggestions on this list, simply log out and log back in again. To log out in the app, tap Profile > Settings > Settings wheel > Log out. If you’re on desktop, click on your name in the upper left-hand corner of your dashboard and then select Log out from the dropdown.

If you’re still stuck, just get in touch with our Customer Service team.
