Babbel offers 60,000 lessons across a range of levels and topics. Our course structure is designed to help you progress through your language learning journey step by step, ensuring that you build a solid foundation before moving on to more complex topics.

We are currently switching from an old course structure to an updated one, so you may see your learning path change from courses to smaller units. We want to help you navigate between our content more easily, and make faster progress towards your learning goals.

In some cases, you may find that some lessons have been moved to a different place on your learning path. But don't worry: all your previous learning progress is still there and nothing has been removed!

Courses by level

At Babbel each level is divided into various units, which are small sets of lessons grouped together thematically.

Units focus on specific learning objectives, such as ordering food and drinks, or talking about movies. These units are handcrafted by our linguistic experts to ensure that they are effective, cover the relevant learning content, and are aligned with your learning needs.

Each unit consists of a set of different lessons and a recap. In the lessons you will practice your pronunciation, learn the essential grammar and vocabulary around the theme of the unit, and in the recap you will be able to review what you have learnt recently.

Courses by topic

Besides the main learning path you can also explore our complementary lessons focused on various different topics such as pronunciation, business language, idioms, cultural information or thematically-grouped words and phrases. This content may vary depending on the language you are learning.
